On October 19th, 2009, Frandsen Bank & Trust, a community banking organization with nine offices in Minnesota, will expand its family of community banks by adding 12 additional banking locations to its charter.

The expansion will be the result of Frandsen Bank & Trust’s merger with two sister banks, Community Bank of the Red River Valley and Northern National Bank, which are also owned by Frandsen Bank & Trust’s parent company, Frandsen Financial Corporation. As part of the merger, Northern National Bank, Community Bank of the Red River Valley and Frandsen Bank & Trust will officially consolidate their operations under a single FDIC bank charter. Northern National Bank and Community Bank of the Red River Valley will both re-brand themselves as Frandsen Bank & Trust.

The merger will allow all three banks to serve their communities more efficiently and effectively by providing customers with access to an expanded network of 21 banking offices located throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. On October 19th, customers will be able to visit any Frandsen Bank & Trust office in Minnesota or North Dakota and enjoy the same friendly, hometown banking experience to which they are accustomed.

All three banks have been owned by Frandsen Financial Corporation for some time. The fact they will also soon share the same name—Frandsen Bank & Trust—signifies that fact that all three banks are equally committed to the Frandsen philosophy of what makes local banking great: trusted, long-term relationships, local decision making, and an unwavering commitment to our customers and communities.

All banks will maintain the same leadership teams following the merger and will continue to function as local, independent community banks that exercise local decision-making control. The only real change will be a new name—Frandsen Bank & Trust—and many more options for our customers.
